Homeschool Days at the Petroglyphs 2004-2005 Schedule           For 2004-2005, all of the Homeschool Days will be on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Admission is $1.50 per person for ages 4 and up. If you'd like to attend one of the events, please let either Alicia or Tom know you are coming, so we can have enough materials and staff on hand. Pop, water, and juice is available at the Petroglyphs, or bring your own). See atlatls from around the world Learn how to make your own darts Children's Atlatl Contest at 3:00 p.m., with prizes awarded November 23rd, 2004 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. "Freezing Moon" Join us for an evening under the stars Learn about Native American constellations Make glow-in-the-dark constellation pages Explore Moon and Mars globes, play games, and more! January 25th, 2005 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Winter Count Learn about how Native Americans recorded their history Do your own Winter Count Make a pipe bead choker necklace to take home Learn about Prairie Animals through hands-on exploration February 22nd, 2005 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Geology Day Learn about Minnesota geology and the rock cycle View rocks, minerals, and fossils Bring your rock collection in to show to others Break your own geode - one per child, please RSVP so we know how many to have on hand. March 22nd, 2005 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Stone Tool Discovery Day Take part in arrowhead identification Learn how to flintknap and make your own arrowheads Make a miniature stone hammer Play Native American games April 26th, 2005 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., doors open at noon Sun, Wind, & Weather Learn how weather works Do UV (ultraviolet) light experiments Make a "wind wheel" Learn different ways to tell the weather Make a "UV-Detector" bracelet May 24th, 2005 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. Art Day Picnic!
