Hi, I bet you're wondering how Angels On Earth got started.

It actually began in New Mexico in the town of Alamogordo. Sharlene and Joanne ran it there, where they helped other non-profit organizations raise money for their worthy causes.

Now Angels On Earth is in South Florida, where Sharlene now lives, and we also have a chapter in New York, where Joanne now lives.

The reason why Sharlene started Angels On Earth up again when she moved to Florida was because she was a victim of Domestic Violence and ended up in a local Women's shelter. There she met three other women from different walks of life who were in the shelter for their own reasons.

After having to spend three months in the shelter with her three children and not receiving the kind of help needed to make the transition to a life of freedom away from her abuser, Sharlene got together with these other women--Jean, Dara and Celese--to start up Angels On Earth again.

Experiencing firsthand the emotional, physical, and mental stress that a person goes through under these circumstances--being homeless, hungry, having nowhere to turn, the humiliation, and all the other feelings--they realized that other people were going through the same thing, and it needed to be stopped.

Being homeless is not a sin, leaving an abusive situation is not a sin, being hungry is not a sin, losing everything you have is not a sin. The sin is when other people don't take the time to realize that everyone needs the chance to get out of these types of situations.

People who are in need are not people that live on handouts. They are looking for the same things we all are--a home, food, a job, a way to support their children. Small handouts help, but most of them need things to help make it permanent. That is how Angels On Earth helps. We do fund-raising, auctions, telethons, take donations, etc., to help people rise above where they are now. Give a homeless person $20 and they will buy food, cigarettes, and possibly drink. Give a homeless person a permanent place to live and a job, and they are on their way to becoming self-sufficient once more.

Angels On Earth helps the homeless, the hungry, the poor, and even the not-so-poor (people who are in need come from all walks of life). We work within our community doing community projects and benefits. We work with children, families, and those with special needs, such as surgery, medical supplies, utility bill payments, fire victims, injury victims, roofing problems, the list goes on and on.

Angels On Earth is looking for other Earth Angels who want to start up Angel On Earth chapters in their own communities. We supply the support and information as your head office, we will guide you through opening your office, and we will help you plan your events and fund-raisers and even give you ideas.

The biggest ways Angels On Earth helps is by caring, listening, and doing whatever they can for their fellow man, woman and child.

Angels On Earth is looking for other Earth Angels to open up Chapters of Angels On Earth in their communities. Angels On Earth supplies support, knowledge and the name needed to be recognized as an organization that helps those in need.
