This Saturday series is designed to help prepare students for return to school in the fall. It will be a review of basic academic and study skills. During the first session the teacher will do informal testing to determine levels of proficiency. Then instruction will be individualized according to need and interest. In use will be library books, computer programs, and a variety of other interesting materials. While there will be some group activities, students will be able to concentrate on their own special assignments as determined by the teacher. Parents are asked to indicate on the registration form any specific concerns as to which subjects require special review. There will be a total of three hours of instruction. Parents wishing to talk with Dr. Franz (relative to student progress during the classes) may call following the conclusion of the entire series.

Specific to Text Reading, Note Taking, Test Taking, and Essay Writing.
Students will focus on study skills and test taking strategies applicable to various class assignments. This course empasizes the techniques of reading, writings, and test taking, enabling students to manage their time wisely and effectively. Necessary class materials will be provided. Additional references for sale, if desired, are in the Lamplighter store.
