ARENA DANCE & SILENT AUCTION:

January 9th at the Orchid Inn, Silent Auction 7 PM till 11 PM. Items drop off at Arena thru Jan 8th or

At Orchid Inn between 4-6PM Jan 9th. Heiderschedit Band and the Good old boys playing 8-12:30 and tickets are

$5 in advance and $6 at the door. Tickets available from all arena board members. Raffle tickets $25 available

from board members. Only 250 sold. Drawing at 10:45PM. Prizes 1 $1000 2&3 $500 5&6 $100 7/9 $50

Need not be present to Win.

 

VOLUNTEER HOURS: Volunteer hours are a form of payment for ice time provided to each hockey player.  Because our association has a great group of parents, we can afford to keep the registration fees at a reasonable amount.  Please, when you are assigned or asked to work for an event, please be responsible to be there; or find a replacement as soon as possible.  Also keep in mind if you are not able to work the event you are scheduled for yourself you can have a family member or friend of the family come work it for you, it does not necessarily have to be a hockey family.

 

TOURAMENTS:

Sleepy Eye will be hosting the District B Tournament in February and a Melt Down Tournament in March. We are looking for people to help with the Tournament and Concession Stands. If you are interesting in helping out in anyway please contact John Braun. Volunteer hours will be given.

 

OPEN HOCKEY:

We are looking for volunteers to supervise over open hockey/open skate. Hours for open hockey/open skate are.

Open Skate: Saturdays 1:15-2:45PM & Sundays 1:15-2:45PM and 6:30-8 PM

Open Hockey: Wednesday Adult, High School 7:45-9 PM & Friday Bantam & younger 6:30-8 PM

Arena will be open on Non-School dates. Call for times.

 

FUNDRAISING:  Fundraising is an important part of keeping our association running but we also understand that all families are involved in fundraising with their schools and other clubs and it can be tough to do it all. If anyone has any fundraising ideas that you would like the board to consider please contact Beth Klein, Angela Mielke, Melinda Braulick or Dean Wersal fundraising coordinators.

 

CALENDAR RAFFLE:

The arena will again be doing the calendar raffle starting in January. We are asking all families to participate in the selling of these calendars. You will be asked by the arena board members to sell and if not asked please contact one of the members.

 

BAR BINGO:

Bar Bingo is on Tuesday Evenings at the Railway 6:30pm start time and Sunday Afternoon’s at the City Limits 3:00pm start time. Reminder if you are signed up to work and cannot fulfill your scheduled time it is your responsibility to find your own replacement.

 

CONTACT PERSON:

This year we have a contact person (John Hirschboeck) that we ask you talk to if you have any concerns, problems, etc with coaching, players or any sort of issues. John can be reached at 507-794-3753 home, 507-794-3543 work, or 507-276-1523 cell. John will listen to your concerns and try to come to some kind of solution. He is always happy to have positive comments too.

FISH FRY:

April 2nd Melinda Braulick will be setting up a work schedule and tickets to be sold. More info to come.

Hockey Board Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the Railway Bar.  The first Wednesday of each Month along with our Normal Board Meeting at 7:00 there will be a Membership Meeting at 7:30.  The next meeting will be held January 6th.
